Mission and Purpose

Our mission and purpose is to improve literacy for all children in Berrien County through collaborative partnerships and quality programs focused in improve teaching and learning.

Meet Our Literacy Team

Christina Martin, English Language Arts Consultant

Christina Martin Christina has been with Berrien RESA for the last three years. She has had the opportunity to serve as a School Improvement Facilitator, Early Literacy Consultant and is currently our English Language Arts Consultant. She comes to Berrien RESA with 18 years of classroom experience as well as a Masters Degree in Language Arts and Special Education. Chris' primary role is to work with literacy leadership teams, grade level teams and individual teachers on aligning curriculum, assessment, and research-based instructional practices K-12 English Language Arts. She is looking forward to building relationships and supporting literacy leaders in Berrien County.

Rebecca Miles, Early Literacy Consultant

Rebecca Miles Rebecca joined Berrien RESA this fall. She comes to Berrien RESA with 14 years combined experience as a Literacy Coach, Reading Interventionist/MTSS Coordinator and classroom teacher. Her primary focus is working with teachers and administrators in assessing needs and integrating Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for K-3 literacy including coaching building level teams in the analysis of data, developing and modeling high-quality literacy lessons and units for K-3 schools' momentum and growth around all things literacy.
