is one of several free preschool programs in Berrien County for 4-year
old children. Applications are reviewed for Head Start eligibility
first. Each child must qualify for the preschool program based on
guidelines that include income verification and documentation of other
school success risk factors. Those children who qualify for Head Start
may not qualify for the GSRP.
GSRP is supported through funds
provided by the State of Michigan while the Head Start preschool program
is supported through funds provided by the federal government. The
first step for parents wanting free preschool for their child is to
complete the preschool eligibility process.

is a preschool program for children who are 4 years old before
September 1st starting in the 2016-2017 school year. Classrooms are located at different sites across Berrien County.
Classrooms can be full-day or half-day sessions, Monday-Thursday. All teachers and assistant teachers have early childhood
credentials and training.
The focus of the GSRP is to offer
children hands-on experiences, in a variety of learning opportunities,
with time to play while exploring their world. Your child will have the
opportunity to experience gross motor and fine motor activities, enhance
socialization skills through play and language, explore their world and
participate in both teacher and child-directed learning experiences.
Lunch or snack is provided daily.
