B2 is a Moderate Cognitive Impaired Classroom with students ages sixteen through
twenty- six. The key areas our classroom focuses on are:
Touch Math and Money and teacher supplemented lessons are used to promote skills that
focus on money, calendar skills, telling time, and budgeting. Individual instruction is
used often to give our students the functional skills they will need to be successful in the
Edmark Reading Program, Edmark Functional Reading Program, and teacher
supplemented lessons are used to promote stronger sight word vocabularies and
comprehension skills along with a life long love of reading. No matter where anyone
goes, you have to be able to read community safety signs to navigate safely and
Basic computer skills are taught, including computer language, use of and care of the
equipment, and introduction of the internet.
Lessons in life skills, involving cooking, laundry, dishes, personal care skills,
communication skills in social situations, telephone skills, time management, job skills,
leisure activities, and identifying goals and interests.
Female Health Education
We also participate in a peer- to- peer program where students come over and we
participate in activities and lessons together.
